People keep searching for home runs... Why not settle for a base hit?

Sorry, I'm late...

Song of the Day: Everclear - Nehalem

It has occurred to me that since university, I've been known to be very tardy for everything. This is especially so when meeting up with friends. It's been so bad that people have built in a 45 minute window before I arrive. I think some have coined it the "Hung Rule". I always joke about it with my friends, but it has always lingered in the back of my mind. Being tardy doesn't really bode well for first impressions either. It shows that I don't care or have a lack of respect for another person's time. Today was a definite case where my time management came into question again and it caused me to block everything out and think about how much of an ass I am to constantly be late. People think it's weird that I set my clocks 22 minutes fast, but if it wasn't for that I'd be late for everything. I know my tardiness will lead some to not take me seriously and thats' what scares me. I really value friendships and my inept ability to be anywhere on time would really reflect badly on me.

Anyways, to all my friends and family, I apologize for being such a daft prick. I should make it a point to be early for things. I know for a fact that I have upset many friends based on my tardiness. Honestly, I don't do ti to make a late entrance. There is definitely no "dramatic entrances" in mind here. Being more timely should be my New Year's resolution. Heh, I'm even late in making a New Year's resolution...

Song of the Day: Everclear - Nahalem

It's been 3 weeks now, but I think I have finally kicked the sore thoat/viral infection thing. Now comes the celebration of being in the city. Haven't done much yet except find a good grocery store. I did however catch a Toronto FC soccer game over the weekend and I must say I was really impressed. Granted the level of play will never match those overseas, but the atmosphere and "fandamoniu
m" was amazing. I can safely say, it was the most exciting sporting event I have ever been to. I enjoy the crowd participation and interaction with one another. Sometimes the cheers can be too much, but most of the time it got a good chuckle out of me. Since soccer is split into 45-minute halves, going to the concession stand is a helluva experience. I love how the stadium sells massive 28 oz. beers! The beer probably adds to some of the rugged cheers heard throughout the stadium in the second half. So I guess you can say it's only a family event up until the second half. Parents, get your earmuffs ready for the children!

Toronto is a major sporting market in North America. We got your Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Argonauts, The Rock, and Raptors... Now with this new expansion soccer team in the MLS, Torontonians better take note. TFC games are going to be a hot ticket. The games are scheduled in the afternoons, so you have the evenings and you get to enjoy the great weather in the afternoon soaking in the sun. You no longer have to sit through a laborious baseball game for upwards of 3 or 4 hours. Soccer in Toronto is still making a name for itself. I had so much fun the last game that I think I might try and get season tickets for next year. It might be still affordable. Anyways, go out and catch a game this year, TFC soccer will not disappoint. And if it does, try the chicken pot pies in the concession stand. I heard they were great!

Song of the Day: silence

Man, do I hate being sick. I've had this terrible sore throat since I've moved, which has prevented me from really enjoying my new surroundings. Now, the sore throat has so swollen that I can feel the pressure its causing my right ear. I've gone through four sampler bottles of Robitussin, 1 container of Neo Citron - Sore throat and congestion, and almost a container of Advil. Needless to say, I'm one well-medicated chap.

To make matters worse, I've had to opt out of such holidays and celebrations such as my birthday and Mother's Day due to this nasty imflammation. No sickness has ever carried through 3 consecutive. Please mister sore throat, go away before the May long weekend begins. I'll buy you some ice cream and we'll call it even.

Song of the Day: Cadence Weapon - Oliver Square

It's been exactly six days since moving into the new pad. The place pretty cool. It's just too bad I haven't been able to enjoy the place as much due to this horrible sore throat. I think I got it while moving. I don't care how much planning is done. Moving is a pain. This one was especially difficult, given the circumstances. But now, the place looks nice. Kerni's parents worked their magic and made the place very cozy. My room is a little bare, but it pretty much holds almost everything I own. The walls could use a poster or some artwork, but I'm sure I'll find something to put up. Even though the pad is surrounded by bullies of buildings, we get alot of sun coming into the livingroom. Friends need to come visit soon before the place becomes a mess. If you're in Toronto, stop by and stay for a drink!
