Song of the Day: The Weekend - Cindy

Look behind her sunglasses, her eyes sing...

So the Magneta Lane/Controller.Controller show is Guelph (my new favourite hangout) was great. I haven't had a great time at a show like this in a long time. Dance music for the masses. Who woulda thought, I'd enjoy dance-y music? Non-stop hook after hook laced with addictive basslines coaxing your every limb to "come with" and join in a celebration of the next generation retro dance party. I think I timed it, 47-minute cardio workout. Good thing I loaded up on carbs afterwards from the always accommodating Chinese restaurant next door. Like I told Matt, who could pass up a sale on food at 2:00 am? I kid you not, Guelph has it going on. More adventures to the Royal City to come in the upcoming months. As for the bands, controller.controller is promoting a new album, so go out and support them in their quest for noteriaty in your area. Oh, and make sure to wear some sort of deodorant because you are going to sweat one out!

Song of the Day: Nada Surf - Imaginary Friends

I think I found it... I found my love for music. When in school, I totally lost touch of what I liked. Most of the time, I just didn't care as to what was the "it" band of the moment. Most of the time Looking back on the last three or so years, I don't think I missed much. Apparently the O.C. stole all the music I liked and gave it to everyone else. Some would consider an act of this nature synonymous to that of Robin Hood, but stealing is a crime. I want my indie music back Seth Cohen! I guess this little blurb was sparked by many of my favourite bands breaking up in the last little while. I’m not to sure what to think of this yet. I still listen to the same records with the same mustard stained shirts, rocking out to the mid to late 90s. I’m holding on to something that was good ‘cause from what I see, Pussycat dolls or Hedley are groups that are waiting for me in 2005.

Now with all this spare time on my hands, I've been more explorative with things. I’ve come to the conclusion that soda water and orange juice is an amazing beverage. It’s just my way having Orangina without paying Orangina prices. But seriously, having free time isn’t a good thing for me. This gives me time to reflect on all the bad things I’ve done. I get pretty critical of myself at times. The autumn leaves falling and the whistling winds send me into my own Narnia. When you’re in a speeding truck, you really don’t have time to notice all the road kill you’ve assisted in being immortalized into the pavement. Getting comfortable again will take time. Patience is a virtue and I’m running out of credits. I'm trying new things. things that I might not have thought of doing a few years prior. I need change, I need love, and I need myself to be happy with whom I am.
