Song of the Day: Smoking Popes - Mrs. You and Me

Definitely an "emo" weekend I would say. Here is the definition of "emo" from one of the great sources of information of our time; Urban Dictionary:

An entire subculture of people (usually angsty teens) with a fake personality. The concept of Emo is actually a vicious cycle that never ends, to the utter failing of humanity, and it goes something like this:

1. Girls say they like "sensitive guys" (lie)
2. Guy finds out, so he listens to faggy emo music and dresses like a dork so chicks will see that he is sensitive and not afraid to express himself (lie). He dyes his hair black, wraps himself in a stupid looking scarf, develops an eating disorder, and rants about how "nobody understands".
3. Now an emo guy, he meets Emo chick and they start dating, talking about how their well-off suburban lifestyles are terrible and depressing (lie)
4. Emo guy is just too much of a pussy. His penis is too small, he's too depressed to bathe, and has more mood swings than emo chick, and he doesn't even have a menstrual cycle. Emo chick dumps him, saying "It's not you, it's me." (lie) as she drives off with Wayne, the school jock and captain of the football team.
5. Emo guy goes home and cries, proceeds to write a weak song and strum a single string on his acoustic guitar. Another emo chick sees how he is so in touch with his feelings, and the cycle continues.

This is the sad truth of the emo lifestyle/music, and now that I look at how pathetic it really is, maybe the emos DO have something to cry about!
When she sees how sensitive and emo I have become, she'll definitely go out with me!

funny as it may seems, everyone has a lil' emo in them, Yggggeaaaaaah. Years removed and still a faint pitter patter reminiscent of a dying heartbeat remains. Someone needs to end this dream because it's never coming true, never going to happen, never going to leave me...

It's the end of the world as we know it, but right now I don't feel fine

Song of the Day: R.E.M. - End of the World

This has got to be one of the worst four-hour stretches of bad luck I have had in a while. Let's list the ways shall we?

  1. Misplaced license (please call if you know of its wherabouts)
  2. Bad meeting - came out more confused than entering
  3. Bad phone conversation with someone close
  4. Rode my bike to the gym to work out and forgot my workout gear
  5. Still thinking about the last post topic ... [Napoleon Dynamite] idiot!
  6. All the ellipticals booked for the past two days when I get there!

Out of the four action items for my brain to process, I would have to say 2 and 3 leaves me with the most disgusted taste in my mouth. Meh, life could be worse, but I'm in the mood to vent. Little things that drive me crazy these days...

As a side note, I did pull my bike out ofthe shed for a spin around the block for the first time in ages. She still rides really well. However, the seat needs to be replaced as this one is like sitting on a pointy rock. Ouch!

Song of the Day: Esthero - That Girl

The =w= & pixies show rocked. Rivers still has the penash that made the band what they are today. Self doubt fronted by a shy and timid man talling next to nothing beside giganitc speakers. I can almost remember why I liked them so much. The Pixies were great too. They played so many songs for only having a handful of EPs released before the breakup. Kim Deal has sucha nice voice. It's good to see that a band reunited can still crank out the rock.

Note to anyone thinking of going to the Molson Ampitheatre, buy lawn seats then sneak up to the seated ears. You'll save like $40.00/ea! Definitely doing that again. Such a great time! Too bad all of us couldn't share this moment.

Also, pictures from convocation will be posted soon so hold your horses! heh

Song of the Day: The Stills - Love and Death

Canada Day always steps up to the plate and knock a homer into the "that was awesome" category. Anyways, I'll write about that later. Here is what I want to adress...

What do you do when you reunite with one of your great friends after like five years? Like a dear in the headlights, I was flabbergasted, shocked, amused, and most importantly do thrilled! It's like finding a puppy you lost when in all circumstances you thought you've given up searching for. Definitely a great feeling. Very peculiar that I was at a loss for words.
