Song of the day: the shins - sleeping lessons

Well, it looks like it's been almost a year since my last post. Shit has been so different since when I first started this blog. I remember when I first started this site during a time where i was really stressed out, i needed a creative outlet, and it was the first time in my life where I didn't know what I was going to do, where I'd be. I'm surprised it's kept me coming back over the years. Since I started, I've been able to get a handle on the city I live in, I'm comfortable in the genesis of my career.

I guess what brought me back to this blog tonight was the news of Steve Jobs passing this evening. Being in the industry he's in I think most of us get caught up in what's happening now and upcoming in the future. I spent the evening reading up on this technology mogul focusing on his earlier life. I couldn't believe the made-for-television story his life is. He had the genes of some really intelligent parents, who became professors. His parents decided to give him up for adoption as they were too young to start a family in a time where interracial relationships were definitely not the norm. I didn't know Steve is part Syrian? To add insult to injury, the couple ended up starting a family 10 months after they gave Mr. Jobs up for adoption.

Everything was coming together for me today. The Simpsons may be getting cancelled... My favourite Simpsons episode "mother Simpson" was inspired Mona Simpson, Steve Jobs' biological sister... Steve Jobs is part middle Eastern... RIM's co-CEO, Mike Laziridis, also middle Eastern. I dont what it really means, but those linkages resonated with me today.

Anyways, time's up for this evening. I hope to see you soon my blog friend.
